Privacy Policy
Effective September 20, 2026
Career Mode Scout is a football scouting tool available on the web, iOS and Android. Player browsing is public, and an account is optional. This policy explains what data is handled when you use the app or choose cloud sync.
Information we handle
- Account information: your email address and basic profile information when you sign in with email, a magic link, Google, or Apple.
- Scouting information: favourites, shortlists, career saves, squads, player notes, saved searches and preferences that you choose to sync.
- Community: messages and display names you post are public. Posting requires an account. Reports are private to administrators and include a copy of the reported message for moderation. You can delete your messages; deleting your account also removes your community messages. A copy in another user's moderation report may remain until that report is removed.
- Device storage: the app uses local web storage and IndexedDB so scouting work and player data can remain available while signed out or offline.
- Feedback: when you submit feedback, we store your message, category, account identifier, current page path, app version and platform in Supabase to investigate issues and improve the app. Feedback is visible only to app administrators and is deleted when your account is deleted. Closing a submission keeps it in the private inbox for reference.
What signing in with Google shares with us
If you choose “Continue with Google,” Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with Career Mode Scout — nothing else. We never see or store your Google password, and this sign-in does not grant access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google product or data. That basic profile information is used only to create and identify your Career Mode Scout account.
What signing in with Apple shares with us
If you choose “Continue with Apple,” Apple shares your name and email address with Career Mode Scout — no profile photo, and nothing else. Apple lets you choose to share your real email address or a private, Apple-generated relay address that forwards to you instead; either way, we never see or store your Apple ID password, and this sign-in does not grant access to iCloud, your device, or any other Apple product or data. That basic information is used only to create and identify your Career Mode Scout account.
How information is used
Your information is used only to authenticate you, provide cross-device sync, restore your saved scouting work and operate the site. Career Mode Scout does not sell your personal information or use your private scouting data for advertising.
Service providers
Supabase provides authentication and database storage. Google processes information when you choose Google sign-in, and Apple processes information when you choose Apple sign-in. Those services handle data under their own privacy terms.
Sharing and retention
Private account and scouting information is not made public through the app. Synced records are kept in Supabase while your account is active. Service providers may retain limited security logs and backups for their standard operational, security and legal purposes; those copies expire according to the providers’ retention schedules and are not used to provide new app features or for advertising. Scouting records created while signed out stay in local app or browser storage unless you later sign in and choose to sync them.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from Account & sync → Delete my account in the app. This removes the Supabase Auth account and active synced records tied to it — favourites, shortlists, career saves, squads, player notes, saved searches and preferences. Limited copies may remain temporarily in provider backups or security logs until they expire through the provider’s normal retention process.
If you cannot access the app, email careermodescouthelp@gmail.com from the address on the account and ask for deletion. We may ask you to verify that you own the account before processing the request. Uninstalling or simply signing out does not delete synced data — use one of the two deletion methods above.
Data kept only on your device can be removed from Settings where an in-app control is available, by clearing the site’s data in a browser, or by uninstalling the native app. Clearing only the player database does not remove lists, saves, squads or settings; those can be removed individually or by restoring an empty backup.
Your choices
You may browse without an account, keep data only on your device, sign out, or stop using cloud sync at any point without losing access to the public player database.
Security and changes
Access controls are used to isolate each account’s private records. No online service is risk-free. Material changes to this policy will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
